Macha is the powerful goddess of the northern province of Ireland. Her sacred site is Emhain Macha, located at Navan Fort in Armagh. Her importance in Irish History and tradition is repeatedly represented in myth. She is older than the Tuatha De Danann, and is linked to the Nemedian wave of invasion. One of her most important symbols is that of the horse.
